Student jailed for dealing drugs
Rowena Dyson was arrested after an undercover officer heard her talking about trying to bypass sniffer dogs at the festival gates on the Isle of Wight.
The 23 year old was found to be carrying 59 sealed bags of ecstasy in September last year.
On Dyson’s Blackberry mobile phone police found text messages showing she had agreed to deal ecstasy, LSD and Ketamine at other festivals between July and September last year. She also had 70,000 depo timberland boots for women sited into her bank account between January 2009 and September 2010.
William Ashworth, defending, said 50,000 of that her father had put in when he was worried about the banks during the credit crunch.
Mr Ashworth told Portsmouth Crown Court: ‘She comes from a good family who are aghast at what she has been doing.’
Dyson, of Briar Walk, Putney, London, admitted possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, two of being concerned in making an offer to supply class A drugs and one of being concerned in making an offer to supply class C drugs.
